In simple terms, calcine is a result of heating something to a high temperature but without fusing in order to drive off volatile matter or to effect changes, such as oxidation or pulverization. This idea is well-represented overall, as such chemical reaction has found its reflection in image corruption techniques in all of the design works represented.

Calcine offers its listeners a new look on the metal. The band is using a lot of guitar pedals both during studio recordings and live concerts, while also adding new instruments on top it. Calcine is not afraid to experiment and thus is not stuck to a single genre.
